At the End of the Day

At the end of the day, I don’t have much to say. But I sit down at the computer, choose an image that speaks to me, wrap a tensor bandage around my hand, and start typing.

The hubs and I had an early start to the morning. I made coffee, we sat for a bit, then headed over to Thieves Market to search for treasures. The day started out quite chilly (for Arizona) but by noon it had warmed up beautifully. I told my hubby to watch for a nut cracker and by some miracle he spotted the most unique nut cracker I could ever have dreamed up! So unique that I was standing staring at it and didn’t even recognize it for what it was. It’s going to be a perfect addition in an upcoming photo shoot.

As we wandered through the rest of the tables, I found only one other treasure that piqued my interest .. not sure it’s vintage but it is unique and I love it. Mission accomplished. Time to leave.

Now we were ready for another coffee and wanted to try something different, so we headed to the nearest Dutch Bros Coffee and were not disappointed. Starbucks, I still love you, but you now have some competition (especially when you figure in the most delicious white chocolate pumpkin muffin everrrr! just yummy).

Now this is where my plan fell apart .. thinking I was going to Trader Joe’s to pick out a beautiful pumpkin from the huge bins that were there last week, I was in for a bit of a surprise. Not a pumpkin in sight. Say wha? Not even a bin. Note to self: you snooze you lose. Apparently pumpkins are over immediately after Halloween. I still can’t get over it .. as America will soon be celebrating their Thanksgiving at the end of November .. where are the pumpkins and squash? Making way for that other season (for which I’m quite excited about too) that brings greens, and wreaths, and berries and beautiful bits and bobs? Well, when they do appear, I won’t be hesitating.

But now, at the end of the day, I’m going to put on some comfy clothes, light a scented candle, and settle in for the night. See you tomorrow. So grateful.
